The Wildest Rafting Trip in Northeast NY!

a man riding a wave on a raft in a body of waterOur high adventure rafting season is in April when the Moose River awakens after a long winter’s nap and becomes the ultimate whitewater challenge for springtime rafting. The Moose is not for everyone and even the hardiest whitewater veteran is quickly and rudely awakened to the reality of the Moose. The Moose is unpredictable and our rafting season is short. You only have to do the river once to find out why the Moose is referred to as “Slam-dancing with Mother Nature.”

Class IV-V, trip duration 3-4+ hours. Minimum required age 18, no exceptions. Prior Class III or higher experience strongly recommended. This trip is 13 miles long and runs from McKeever NY to Fowlersville NY. Frigid water and big drops (waterfalls) makes this, on average, our most difficult river. We base our Moose River trips at Christy’s Motel, 2902 State Route 28 Old Forge, New York 13420.

We suggest that you stay at Christy’s the night before your trip so you are rested and ready to go in the morning, and the night after your trip, so you can take a warm shower and relax after your trip. Christy’s is close to everything in Old Forge and has great rates, as low as $80 per night. Call (315) 369-6138 for room reservations.

Wetsuits are required and are now included for no extra charge.
