The Hudson River Gorge is in the heart of the Adirondacks. Our riverside base in North River NY is located in the Gore Mountain region (B) which has a wealth of outdoor activities and accomodations. Other Adirondack vacation areas are nearby and the drives are so scenic that they actually become a positive part of your vacation! Our base is only 35 minutes from Lake George (F), 70 minutes from Old Forge (A), 25 minutes from Indian Lake, 60 minutes from Saratoga Springs, 90 minutes from Lake Placid (E), and 35 minutes from Schroon Lake.
Climb an Adirondack High Peak, hike to a secluded waterfall, paddle on a wilderness lake, or pedal mountain bikes on back country roads, your raft trip can be part of an extended Adirondack vacation.
North Creek and North River are the nearest area to our Hudson River operation. Some recommended accommodations in the area are Copperfields Inn in the village of North Creek and Adirondack River Beds and Garnet Hill Lodge in North River.

Adirondack River Beds is a new Hostel located across from the Hudson River only 900 feet down the road from ARO's rafting base. They have a bunk room with three bunk beds, and three rooms with queen size beds. Perfect for individuals or your group. The owner is a guide. Accommodates up to 12 people.
