Black River Family Rafting

Join us on this exciting introduction to whitewater rafting, a short drive from the 1000 Islands area. This guided trip is an adventure for the entire family, with a minimum age of seven.  Starting right at our base in Watertown, we begin with some paddling instructions and practice in a large calm section of the river.  Then you help your guide paddle through three sets of rapids. At the final rapids, if you don't mind getting wet,  you utilize your new skills to help your guide paddle the raft back up into a "hole" on the river to see if you can get your boat to "surf."  When you have had enough, you continue down river for a completely different learning experience, looking for fossils. Four hundred million years ago this area was at the bottom of a shallow sea and many fossils of marine creatures are embedded in the limestone rock that was formed. Call for available dates and times.
